When I think of this time of year, I think of lights, wonderful time with my family and friends and the beauty and wonder of the natural world. We haven't had a snow yet in Sedona this season, but I wanted to share the beauty of Sedona, when the snow does choose to cloak our red rocks.
I also feel rather than this being the darkest time of the year, it's for me a returning to the light, which I so love.
My mom's favorite Christmas song was Ave Maria and I've included the full song by Katherine Jenkins, who has such a glorious voice. The first time I heard this song I was in a beautiful Catholic church in La Canada, California photographing a wedding. The woman singing the song was blind, and once I heard her start to sing this song, I thought of my mom and how she loved this song. It brought tears to my eyes; in a good way. I hope you enjoy!
